Ph.D.
2004
Specialization:
Affiliation: Radboud University Nijmegen
Dissertation: Motion, transfer, and transformation: The grammar of change in Lowland Chontal
Bio:
I'm home from the Netherlands, living in Portland, OR, and on hiatus from linguistics. I'm doing therapeutic massage, mostly in eldercare and palliative care.
Research:
My research interests are documentary linguistics, applied anthropology, endangered and minority languages, semantic typology, grammatical categories, and patterns of use. Eventually I'd like to look at cross-cultural categories in the language of health and wellness (and illness and death) in the minority communities around Portland.
